The Bridge Wars: Another moment in time that changed a lot in hip hop history was the moment that the beef between MC Shan's Juice Crew and KRS One's Boogie Down Production started. It all began when the Juice Crew got out "The Bridge" and they sing where THEY got started and that was the Queens Bridge. BDP were trying to make their own career but they were facing the rejection from many of the producers at the time. When "The Bridge" came out, KRS One took offense of it as a South Bronx resident because he "though" that MC Shan was stating that Hip Hop started from Queens while everybody knew that it started from the Bronx. So, BDP went to the studio spending a lot of money for ONE take...one recording. And there they created "South Bronx" as a response to The Bridge. They gave their tape to Kool DJ Red Alert and the audience went crazy on that one. The Juice Crew responded with "Kill That Noise", while KRS One continued the beef even though DJ Scott La Rock was shot to death during that time and KRS One got out "The Bridge is Over". This is a specific moment in hip hop history where the fans picked up sides. This led to violent confrontations from each side. It was the time that a beef like that could build careers like KRS One's did (Shan was already of great fame), but also to bring hate amongst the fans and the followers. KRS One gives a lot of respect to MC Shan, because as he stated in the BEEF documentary, if Shan just ignored him after South Bronx dropped, there wouldn't have been any of KRS One. Another thing is that it took 20 years for KRS One and Juice Crew's producer Marley Marl to get into the studio together. That happened in 2007 with "Hip Hop Lives"
